Fall Fun Outdoors

Taking long walks helps produce endorphins, which make you feel good which helps a date go well. Here are a few date outdoor activities I recommend checking out in Illinois.

  1. The Richardson Adventure Farm has 9.7 miles of corn maze trails over 28 acres. The Farm is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 – Man first walking on the moon this year. Admission is $19/person and includes entrance into the fun maze, observation tower, train, wagon ride, carousel, pig races, pedal bikes & trikes, slides, and much more! Pumpkins, food items, and some activities are available for an additional fee. I highly recommend chunking a pumpkin down the 50-ft observation tower. There are over 30 activities including Zip Lining: $15/rider; Zorbing: $30 per roll per couple; Extreme Air: $8/ride, Paintball Shooting: $6 for 25 shot or $9 for 50 shots, & Gem Stone Mining: $6-12 (depending on type). Visit the Activities Page to see the full list of activities. Maze 'til Midnight Hours Fri  Sept 13th and Sat 14th, Fri Oct 11th and Sat 12th  (All admissions must be purchased 2 hours before closing). 2. Fall in love with the foliage at Starved Rock State Park. There is over 13 miles of hiking trails and 18 steep sandstone canyons formed by glacial meltwater. Several, including the Illinois Canyon, Council Overhang, Kaskaskia Canyon, & Ottawa Canyon, have waterfalls. A wooded trail leads to Lover’s Leap Overlook, with views of the river and Starved Rock Dam. Park wildlife includes white-tailed deer, bald eagles and migratory birds.
