For over 20 years, I’ve lived in small Midwestern towns - I grew up in the northern ‘burbs and graduated from college in a ville so tiny that you could've tripped in the front door and fell out the back. Currently, I live in Sweet Home Chicago - the third most populous city in the U.S. (behind New York City and Los Angeles) with the tallest skyscrapers, and neighboring the world’s largest lake.

Although I’m not even remotely related to Jean Baptiste Point Du Sable, the founder of this great city, we share a few similarities. 1) I’m black 2) with a French sounding name 3) that likes to explore new sights, eats, and adventures. Moreover, I firmly believe that you don’t have to travel far to experience something new and you don’t have to spend a ton to have a lot of fun. I’m also interested in sharing how to sustain natural glowing skin, low maintenance hair styles, and recently launched Mon Sherrie TV, a YouTube dedicated to trying on trendy fashion brands. My mission is to 1) Empower everybody to feel sexy and comfortable in their own skin and 2) Highlight how beauty and brains are not mutually exclusive. With this Big Hairy Audacious Goal (B.H.A.G) in mind, my style choices will reflect the type of risks I’m taking in this journey. Hint: It’s risqué.

More Risqué, More Reward

  • Moreover, I’ve outlined a few romantic restaurants for you and your partner in crime to enjoy on the blog. You’ll discover amazing places to check out from Chicago to the great suburbs to amazing Midwestern escapes in the neighboring states of Wisconsin, Michigan, & Indiana. I offer a broad perspective of various neighborhoods since I’ve lived on polar opposite ends of the city. I love sharing hidden gems.

  • Save your traveling funds and come aboard with me. Check out the best theater/dance performances, tasty new restaurants, and exclusive art exhibits.

  • I’m a choosy millennial who considers convenience, quality,  and value. The average single Chicagoan spends ~$1,800 on dating every year. I take the time to research affordable places so you don’t have to (and trust me, there’s an wide array of places to check out). Take a peek at some of my favorites on the blog. Let’s Go!
